JUST ADDED! College Essay Writing Workshop 

June 10 – 14, 2024, 8:00am to 10:00am (for rising 12th graders only)

During the College Essay Writing Workshop, students will commit to drafting, editing, and finalizing their personal statement/Common Application main essay, in addition to selecting at least two supplemental essay topics to finish. With full engagement to the tasks of the week, all students will end the workshop with a plan in place to tackle any remaining writing tasks with support from their peers and from the workshop instructor.

This course is being offered on campus and in person.  Classroom location will be emailed one (1) week prior to the start of the course.

This enrichment course examines 3 areas; English readiness, Math readiness & Study skills. The English readiness course focuses on reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and research. The math readiness focuses on fundamental math concepts, test prepardness, learning tools & tips. This course also emphasizes the variety of study skills necessary to succeed at St. Francis and gives students the tools they need throughout four years of high school. The goal of this course is to empower and inspire students as they transition to a new academic environment. This course is by invitation only.

Required Supplies: Texas instrument  TI-84 or TI 84 Plus or TI-84 Plus CE.

SF 101* (open to incoming St. Francis 9th graders only)

Session 1: June 24th – June 28th
Session 2: July 8th – July 12th
Time: 8:30 am – 11:30 am

This course is designed to give incoming 9th grade students a jumpstart to their high school experience. Getting familiar on the first day of school can be intimidating! Students will get to participate in fun activities, discussions and campus tours all while getting familiar with being on campus. This course will also explore everyday Troubie experiences that every student will have at one time or another; going to the library to study, musical or choir rehearsals, club activities, getting cookies from the Caf, opening a locker, visiting our tech department for those frozen screens or lost passwords and much more! Students will also learn about the many leadership opportunities and ways to get involved and become a part of this amazing sisterhood. Not only do our students, and beautiful campus, make for a great place to spend your summer. Our wonderful staff and faculty make St. Francis High School a great place to be! This non-credited course is a great way to brush off those nerves, and even better, pay it forward by lending a hand to another fellow Class of 2028 peer on her first day. So come join us this Summer for SF 101!

Drivers Education

Session 1: June 10 – 21, 2024 from 10:00am – 1:00pm

This course is designed to help the student become a responsible driver who is well aware of and better able to manage the risks of distracted driving. With this goal in mind, responsible driving also addresses such issues as resisting harmful peer pressure and social pressure, exercising emotional control, and developing social responsibility. Course includes 27 hour class time and 3 hours of independent study; 30 hours total for course completion in compliance with DMV regulations. No absences or make-ups allowed. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible to take the permit test. You must be 15 ½ years old to take the CA permit test and 15 to take this class.

Price: $250

Prerequisite: This course is open to boys and girls who are at least 15 years old by the start of the summer session. No Book Required.
