Beyond a strong, college preparatory education, St. Francis campus life offers an outstanding range of athletics, arts, and other extracurricular activities which allow students to develop leadership skills, pursue individual interests and just have fun! SFHS encourages its students to reach out – to explore new horizons, to get involved in global concerns and to help shape ideas and technologies of the future. St.Francis, as a girls’ school, gives students something unique – an environment where they can be themselves, strengthen their moral and ethical foundation, explore exciting challenges, develop deep and lasting friendships, and acquire competence, confidence, and strong leadership skills.
The Guidance Department, a vital part of campus life, strives to encourage individuals to grow in awareness of their potential and to become lifelong learners with the capacity to be successful in a rapidly changing world. Counselors, assigned to students throughout their four years, nurture them as they transition through the academic and social expectations of high school.
Parent involvement in campus life is an expectation, with required parent volunteer hours a condition of attendance and several dynamic parent organizations supporting the arts, athletics and general school activities. The Parent Service Program also provides the school with talents and abilities that we would otherwise have to fund while offering parents opportunities for social interaction and camaraderie.
The Athletic Department mission commits us to the total education of young women by providing a comprehensive, fair and equitable athletic program for the school community in a caring, supportive environment. We strive to enrich the mental, physical and moral development of all students by integrating athletics into the school’s educational program. We strive for excellence with these primary goals as our focus. We believe that championships, individual recognition and the ability to compete are desirable outgrowths of an educationally sound sports program but are secondar
Boosters would like to announce the return of Sports Physical Night on June 1, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Every student on an SFHS sports team must have a current Pre-participation Physical Form on file prior to the first work-out. Physicals are good for the 2017-18 season performed after June 1. To facilitate this process, St. Francis High School’s Booster Club is sponsoring a Sports Physical Clinic. This is an excellent opportunity for all athletes to complete their required physical exam for any sport, even springtime sports. The cost is $20 and athletes, along with their parents, will have an opportunity to meet many coaches.
It’s about artistic expression. There is an arts concert, event, play or art exhibition every month during the school year.
Our performance students consistently receive special and statewide recognition at regional theatre and music festivals, visual artists take high honors at county and state competitions and St. Francis dancers perform in concert, special events, competitions and liturgies.
Join the Patrons of the Arts to find out how you can help the teachers in their classes and on fieldtrips, hanging art, sewing costumes, building sets, shopping for props, ushering for shows, and more.
SFHS encourages its students to reach out – to explore new horizons, to get involved in global concerns, and to help shape ideas and technologies of the future. Nearly all St. Francis students participate in some form of student activities. Student government plays an important role in shaping the school calendar and channeling the efforts of classes. Organizations and clubs are plentiful, providing something for everyone; school and community service, academic competitions, cultural interests, spirit building, publications, and the development of special talents.
The Dean of Students is responsible for campus-wide discipline and safety. The Dean works in collaboration with the Guidance Department and school administrators to counsel students in resolving personal, academic and behavioral problems. Along with the Safety Committee, the Dean coordinates emergency drill training for students, faculty and staff.
