Serra Court Café
The Serra Court Café, under the direction of Boris Seljak of Chartwells School Dining Services, has brought cafeteria dining to a new level at St. Francis! Among the many popular lunch offerings are:
- Made to order burritos (Chipotle-style)
- Teriyaki rice bowls
- A “daily special” hot entrée with side dishes
Breakfast is also served daily, beginning at 6:30am.
We encourage students to use the computerized debit system to pay for their cafeteria purchases. This system works like other debit accounts with a PIN (personal identification number), but will be “card-less.” Students just memorize and enter their PIN into the transaction terminal. Not only do they avoid the need to carry cash to school, but the transactions also go much faster. Parents should be aware that the security of the debit system has been enhanced in the Café: photographs of all the students are loaded in the point of sale system with their PIN’s, enabling cashiers to verify identities.
To deposit money in a student cafeteria account, send a check to school (made out to SFHS) with “cafeteria” and the student’s name on the memo line the cancelled check will serve as a receipt. A box to collect Cafeteria Account checks is is located in the main school office.
Why use the debit system?
Using the debit system instead of bringing money daily will speed up the transactions and reduce the time students spend in line.
How does the debit system work?
When purchasing food items, students will enter their PIN into the transaction terminal. The amount of the purchase will be debited from their account. Students will be notified when their account balance is getting low.
How do we deposit money in the student’s debit account?
Send a check to school (made out to SFHS) with “cafeteria” and the student’s name on the memo line the cancelled check will serve as a receipt. A box to collect Cafeteria Account checks is located in the main school office.
How much should we deposit into our student’s account?
Initially, we recommend depositing the amount you believe your daughter would use in the first month. Download the Café menu and discuss with your daughter.
Can cash be used to make cafeteria purchases?
Yes. We encourage the use of the debit system, but cash is acceptable.
When will the cafeteria be open?
During the school year, the cafeteria is open between 6:45am and 2:00pm.
Serra Court Café presents many new food options for our students, including a selection of breakfast items, an expanded lunch menu with vegetarian options and salad bar, and Starbucks coffee. We hope your daughters find the new cafeteria experience enjoyable - and delicious!
