SAT - Juniors (Spring), Seniors (Fall - through January test date)
We strongly encourage your daughters to sign up on the College Board web site by August for all of the dates she intends to take. SF students like to take the SAT at St. Francis.
Soif your daughter wants to take the SAT at the St. Francis site, please have her sign up by early to mid August for the two or three dates she wants. The SAT is offered at SFHS on October 6, November 3, and December 1.
AP History students are encouraged to sign up for the AP History SAT Subject Test in December.
Juniors may also sign up in the fall for the spring dates they want. Spring SAT dates at St. Francis: March 1 (limited space), May 3, and June 7. Typically, about half of the juniors take their first SAT in March, with repeats in May for the reasoning test and June for the subject tests. The SF openings fill up quickly and the March date in 2007 will be especially limited. Please sign up several months in advance.

Community College Assessment
The California Community Colleges would like all entering freshmen to take an assessment exam, specifically in the areas of Reading , Writing and Math. The results are used to help place students in appropriate Freshmen level courses. As a courtesy to our high school, the Sacramento City College campus will administer, free of charge, the assessment exam to all interested St. Francis High students. The exam will be announced in the spring. Students will be required to sing-up early and an announcement will be made closer to the date. The exam results may be used at any Los Rios Community College campus, and many other regions will accept the results as well. See Ms. Lee in the Guidance Center if you have any other questions.
