State law requires that the following notice be sent to all diocesan schools each year:

Subject: Notification of Asbestos Program Management Plan

The complete asbestos management plan has been sent to the Governor’s Agent, the Office of Local Assistance, in compliance with EPA’s asbestos in schools regulation 40 CFR 763. It is available for your review at the school’s business office and at the Diocese of Sacramento’s Office at 2110 Broadway during normal business hours. The plan contains information regarding the following:

• Location of all asbestos-containing building materials (ACBM).
• A schedule and results of surveillance activities.
• Response and corrective actions

Our custodial staff has received the required two hour training course. We have retained the services of Advanced Asbestos Controls, Inc., a certified asbestos consultant firm to manage the ongoing surveillance, inspections, and project management required by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Conclusion: The environment in which our students are being educated possesses no hazardous threat to their health and safety. We have taken steps to monitor the school every six months as required. It is the intent of the Diocese to rid the school of all ACBM as soon as funding and time permits.
