SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis soccer team is seeded sixth in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I bracket released Friday afternoon.

“We are working really hard in practice,” said senior Arianna Avila. “It is what makes us a good team because we push each other to the max so during the playoffs it will payoff.”

The Troubadours hope the payoff will be a long playoff run.  SF will open at home (Granite Regional Park) on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 3 p.m. against Modesto. The Panthers are 13-3-3 on the season with a 9-1-2 league mark in the Modesto Metro Conference.

The winner of the opening round match will take on the winner of No. 3 Turlock and No. 14 Folsom on Friday, Feb. 24. Delta League champ Davis is the No. 1 seed, while Franklin of Elk Grove is the No. 12 seed.

Admission is free on Wednesday and the game will be broadcast on TroubieTV.
