Water Polo Splits Four Games at St. Francis Invite

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – The St. Francis water polo team went 2-2 at the St. Francis Invitational in Mountain View to open the 2013 season.

The Troubadours split two matches Saturday. After an overtime loss to Leland in the first game 9-8, the Troubadours closed the tournament with a 12-5 win over Los Altos. Brinnley Barthels and Emily Reinl each scored four times in the win. Jenna Bellinger added two goals and Elieen Walsh and Samantha Reinl also scored.

Lauren Charter had three goals in the overtime loss to Leland. Reinl (2), Marissa Zanobini and Maggie Oys also found the goal.

St. Francis split two games against Saratoga (L 5-4) and Castilleja (W 4-1) on the first day. Brinnley Barthels had three goals and was one of six players scoring on the day.

The Troudabours host Monterey Trail at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday at Jesuit. The JV squad will open the season against Davis at 5:45 p.m.
