SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis had 12 players score at least one goal as the Troubadours routed Franklin 23-1 Tuesday afternoon at the Jesuit pool.

“It boosts everyone’s confidence because the whole team gets to play,” said Marissa Zanobini. “It was a fun game to support each other.”

Samantha Reinl and Jennalyn Barthels each scored four times and Brinnley Barthels added three goals to lead the team. Emily Reinl, Caroline Urkov and Jenna Bellinger each found the goal two times in the match.

St. Francis (4-3) scored nine times in the opening period and led 13-0 at the half.

“Most importantly we came out strong on defense and took care of business,” said Zanobini, who scored in the first period.

Hannah Milanowski had a team-best five assists, while Julie Zanobini helped on three goals.

The Troubies extended the lead to 22 before Franklin got on the board.

St. Francis hosts Clovis West at 8 p.m.

“We have been working really hard on drills in practice and we are going to do really well in a tough competition,” said Bellinger. “Based on what we have been doing in practice, it is going to be a good game.”
