2008-09 State Qualifying Tournament Results
(Troubadour Tribune Apr-May 2009)
The Debate Team, newly re-organized this year, is focusing on Public Forum debate after working last year and this fall with Parliamentary and Policy debate. Public Forum style is partner debate. Each tournament requires students to develop pro and con cases regarding a major national issue. (The latest issue was the No Child Left Behind Act and its consequences.)
Congratulations to Rachel Broghammer, Danielle Hollister, Laura Schembri and Frances Wang for winning rounds at the Sacramento Valley State Qualification tournament in February at Ponderosa High School. Special congratulations to Rachel Broghammer and Frances Wang for advancing to the Quarterfinals Round. This was an excellent way to end the 2008-09 Debate Season.
