Arrival
When you arrive on campus, please come to the Gym foyer to check in and receive important things like your name tag, Troubie Trivia card (LOTS of great prizes awarded) and Class of 2030 t-shirt.

Come hungry!
Our awesome Dads’ Club will be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers (and veggie burgers) so you can grab some dinner while you’re mingling between 4:30 and 6:00 pm. If you plan to join us for the BBQ, please complete this short form so we have plenty of food for everyone.

Ask questions!
Representatives of our academic departments and the Counseling and College Center will be here to answer your questions about required courses, electives and freshman course registration. You can also meet some great folks from our Parent groups.

Understand uniform sizing
There will be samples available so you can determine your correct size in our uniform items before ordering them online this summer.

Meet your Troubie sisters
After you’ve completed your “to do” list, we’ll move to the gym for the final 45 minutes so that you can get to know the Class of 2030. Our Ambassadors will share “10 Ways to Thrive at St. Francis” and you’ll learn all about the amazing and special young women who make up the St. Francis High School Class of 2030.

If for any reason you are unable to make it to Freshman Welcome Night, please let us know and we’ll make arrangements for you to get all the information and  collect your Troubie swag.

We are excited to have you join our St. Francis family! The Counseling Department consists of three academic counselors, two college advisors, an administrative assistant, and the registrar.  As a team, we help you choose classes, maintain balance, navigate the college process, and support you throughout your high school years.  We meet with you every year and have Advisories to present important information.

Please follow these steps to register for your classes:

• Read the course descriptions in the SFHS Course Catalog
• Complete the Class of 2030 Freshman Worksheet
• Check your email for Troubie mail login credentials, which you’ll need to access PowerSchool
• Log in to PowerSchool to become familiar with the course registration process
• Request a meeting with the Counseling Department about any questions you have regarding course placement or choosing courses for freshman year (counseling@stfrancishs.org)
• Submit your course requests in PowerSchool (see PowerSchool tutorial section in the video)
   

St. Francis offers incoming freshmen optional challenge tests in Math and Foreign Languages. Freshmen wishing to take Algebra 1 or a first-year Language class do NOT need to take a challenge test. 

Challenge Test 
The optional challenge tests are held:

 Saturday, February 28, 2026

• Language Challenge Tests: 9:00AM
• Math Challenge Tests: 10:15AM 

Monday, March 2, 2026

• Additional testing session: 1:00PM-4:00PM

Wednesday, March 4, 2026

• Makeup  Challenge Tests session: 3:30PM-6:00PM

Students only need to attend one (1) testing session.  Please select the date that best first your family's schedule.  Register below. 

Math
If you wish to take Algebra 1 as a freshman, no math testing is necessary. Nearly half of the freshman class will take Algebra 1 in their freshman year.

If you are currently taking Algebra 1 and would like to take Geometry as a freshman, you will need to take the Geometry challenge test. The Geometry challenge test is sixty (60) minutes long and calculators are not permitted. Topics assessed on the Challenge Test for placement into Geometry. 

If you are currently taking Integrated Math 1, you will need to take the Integrated Math 2 challenge test. The Integrated Math 2 challenge test is sixty (60) minutes long and calculators are not permitted. Topics assessed on the Challenge Test for placement into Integrated Math 2.

If you are currently taking Geometry or Integrated Math 2 and would like to take Algebra 2 as a freshman, you will need to take the Algebra 2 challenge test. The Algebra 2 challenge test is ninety minutes (90) long and calculators are permitted. Topics assessed on the Challenge Test for Algebra 2.

If you are currently taking Integrated Math 3 or Algebra 2 and would like to take Honors Pre-Calculus as a freshman, you will need to take the Pre-Calculus challenge test. The Pre-Calculus challenge test is ninety minutes (90) long and calculators are permitted. Topics assessed on the Challenge Test for Honors Pre Calculus.

Class of 2030, join the Freshman Student Council! Selection is based on interviews and group team building activities held with a panel of St. Francis staff and students representing the Associated Student Body at SFHS. Positions include President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Spirit Coordinator, Historian, Ministry Coordinator, and Equity Coordinator.

If you are interested in interviewing for a Freshman Student Council position, please thoroughly read the Freshman Class Council Process and then complete the application and return it to Laura Hanusek by May 1, 2026. All instructions and details are provided in the application. Please use your assigned SFHS email address as that is how you will be communicated with during the recruitment process.

Timeline for Freshman Student Council selection 2026-2027:

• March 1, 2026:  Class of 2030 Class Council application opens
• May 1, 2026:  All Freshman Student Council Applications, Google Slide presentations, and recommendations are due no later than 9:00 am. Recommendations and Google Slide presentations may be emailed to lhanusek@stfrancishs.org.
• Monday, May 18, 2026 at 4:00PM-6:00 pm or Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 4:00PM-6:00 pm: Interviews for Freshman Class Council candidates will be held.

Art at St. Francis is where creativity, confidence, and community come to life. Our vibrant performing arts program invites students to explore their passions through choral music, dance, instrumental and orchestral music, show choir, and cultural arts like hula, whether they are stepping into the arts for the first time or continuing a long-held love for performance. Students are encouraged to take stretch their abilities, build discipline, and grow as expressive, collaborative leaders.

February 24:  The Troubie Store will open just for the Class of 2030!  Stop by between 3:30PM-5:00PM to pick up an SFHS hoodie or other swag.

Week of February 23: Online enrollment opens and financial aid awards are available this week.

February 28 and March 4: Option Challenge Tests in Math and Foreign Languages.

March 7: Enrollment contract and $850 registration fee due.

March 18: Class of 2030 Freshman Welcome Night.

August 7: Freshman Orientation.

August 10: First day of classes.

August 21: Freshman Family Prayer Service & Overnight Retreat

Our school bus service provides safe, reliable routes to and from campus for students commuting from select areas, helping make a St. Francis education more accessible. For families who prefer to carpool or drive, our campus offers organized drop-off and pick-up procedures to ensure a smooth and safe arrival each day. Transportation details, routes, schedules, and registration information are shared with families prior to the start of the school year, and updates are provided as needed throughout the year to keep everyone informed.
