2016 Golf Highlights
- St. Francis golf finished tied for seventh at the 2016 NCGA/CIF NorCal Championship at The Club at Crazy Horse Ranch. It was the first NorCal appearance since 2013. Freshman Nashla Aguero posted the low score on the day for the Troubadours with a 10-over par 82.
- The Troubies qualified for the CIF NorCal Regional Championships with a third-place finish at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters tournament at the Reserve at Spanos Park. Junior Chase Saca tied for the low score of the day for the Troubadours with an eight-over par 80, shooting 39-41.
- St. Francis won the Delta League title after going undefeated in league play and winning two of the three center matches.
- Head Coach Bert Jones was named the Delta League Coach of the Year.
- Sophomores Olivia Alcoran and Patricia Sweeney were named to the all-league team by virtue of the scores throughout the season joining junior Lauren Allen. It was the second honor for Alcoran and Sweeney.
- Alcoran was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and the winner of the Integrity in the Moment Award. She played every match, posting a team-best 38.7 scoring average in dual matches. She earned a team-best medalist honors two times during the season.
- Sweeney had the best 18-hole average on the team with an 81.8 stroke average.
- Sophomore Arissa Vallejo was named the Most Improved Player.
- Five different players earned medalist honors during the season for the Troubadours in dual matches.
