  • How to Join a Club

How to Join a Club

Club Rush is held in September every year and serves as an opportunity for students to see what types of clubs are available for them to join. It is a great time to ask questions about the different clubs and figure out which are the best fit. Clubs are a great way to get involved on campus, make new friends, and are a great way to show off your talents and skills!

Academic Teams and Competitions

Academic teams at SFHS are offered to students who seek an intellectual challenge, personal growth, and the benefits of team membership. Most teams are one year courses earning two-credits. Attendance, participation in team events, positive attitude and support for team members are used for student assessment. Some teams hold try-outs and/or require applications. For all others, students may sign up in August. Academic Teams count towards student’s Elective graduation requirements. Read more about our graduation requirements here.

Ambassador Program

The SFHS Ambassadors proudly serve as the face of St. Francis High School to the greater Sacramento community. With over 190 students representing a wide range of academic interests, extracurricular involvement, and leadership roles, our Ambassadors share a common passion for being part of the St. Francis Troubadour family.

As vital contributors to the St. Francis High School admissions process, our Ambassadors actively engage with prospective students and families at key events throughout the school year. They embody the spirit, excellence, and community of Sacramento’s premier all-girls Catholic high school.

Ways SFHS Ambassadors Make an Impact:

  • Presentations at Feeder Schools: Sharing the St. Francis experience with 7th and 8th graders at over 30 local schools each September and October.
  • Support at Admissions Events: Welcoming prospective families at the Open House, High School Placement Test, Freshman Registration Night, Back to School Night, and more.
  • Shadow Buddy Program: Hosting more than 400 8th grade students each fall and winter for shadow visits to experience a day in the life at St. Francis.
  • Community Outreach: Promoting St. Francis High School in neighborhoods and parishes throughout Sacramento and surrounding areas.

Who Can Become an SFHS Ambassador?

Current Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are eligible to apply each year. Ambassadors are selected for their leadership, communication skills, and ability to positively represent St. Francis High School. Students should be enthusiastic about sharing the school’s values, academic programs, and co-curricular opportunities with future Troubadours.

We welcome a diverse group of students who reflect the vibrant spirit of our campus and are excited to connect with incoming families during the high school admissions journey.
