The AP Spanish Literature course is comparable to a third-year college Introduction to Hispanic Literature course. Students will learn to develop a high degree of competence in language skills and in the interpretation of literature. Students are required to read, analyze and discuss in writing a wide variety of representative works from three major genres: narrative, poetry, and drama, using the appropriate terminology and applying the different tools of literary criticism.Students will do a close reading of all fifty-three required readings in preparation for the AP Spanish Literature Exam. All students enrolled in this course are required to take the AP Spanish Literature exam at the end of the year. UC A-G approved – e Language Other than English. NCAA approved.

Prerequisite: Completion of AP Spanish 4 with a grade of B or higher; completion of Spanish 4 with a grade of A or higher, and teacher recommendation.
