Every 15 Minutes Program
April 21 & 22, 2015

Did you know that alcohol-related collisions are the leading cause of death among teenage youth? In fact, every 15 minutes, someone in the United States is injured or killed in an alcohol-related incident.

St. Francis Catholic High School, in conjunction with the California Highway Patrol, Office of Traffic Safety, Sacramento City Fire Department, UCD Medical Center and several other agencies and organizations are taking a proactive step in educating our students about making mature decisions regarding drinking and driving. St. Francis Catholic High School, along with these agencies, is hosting the “Every 15 Minutes” program.

This two-day event is being held today and tomorrow. There is a simulated crash scene on the first day with emergency vehicles and personnel responding. THIS IS ONLY A SIMULATION. Pre-determined students are pulled from class every 15 minutes to replicate the loss of life every 15 minutes due to alcohol-related collisions. On the second day there will be a school-wide mock memorial service assembly.
