Principal’s Newsletter 4/24/15
This week we hosted the “Every 15 Minutes” (EFM) program, a two-day assembly that educated our students about the dangers of drinking and driving. Students witnessed a mock crash scene and its gruesome results. They saw their classmates and beloved teachers pulled from classes every 15 minutes to symbolize deaths due to drunk driving, and they listened as parents and students read letters of loss about their “dead” classmates and children. While this week was emotionally heavy, I hope our students did not miss the essential truth about EFM, which was not about death. It was about LIFE. It was about making healthy choices to be the best people God is calling us to be. We have a God of hope, and it is in praying to that God that we ask for help in becoming the people that we are called to be. As we head into the junior prom/ senior ball/graduation season, I ask that you talk to your children about choosing LIFE, one decision at a time. St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us!
