Principal’s Newsletter 5/06/16
As we enter into the spring season of proms, balls and graduation parties, I would like to ask you to talk to your daughters about the dangers of attending parties where drugs and alcohol are present. Most parents are woefully unaware of the choices their children are making while attending these parties. I sent a letter to our juniors and seniors this week, reminding them about our behavioral expectations on and off campus, that they are Troubies wherever they go. I ask that you talk to your daughters about safe and healthy choices. I encourage you to ask the questions that will keep them safe: Who are you hanging out with? What are your friends’ phone numbers? Who are their parents? Will they be supervising? Where do they live? Children need parents who are willing to set boundaries, even though kids push against them. Doing the right thing doesn’t always feel good, but out of love and concern for the safety and well-being of our children, sometimes we need to be the “bad guys.” Let us pray that all our children will be safe this season.
St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us!
