Important Update 4-8-20
Distance Learning for remainder of 2019-2020

Email blast

Dear St. Francis Families,

After consultation with the Bishop’s Office, and public health officials, our Executive Director of Catholic Schools, Lincoln Snyder, directed all schools in the Diocese of Sacramento to be closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. While school buildings will remain closed to students, parents, and faculty/staff, instruction will continue via our established Distance Learning (DL) platform. For your reference, I am attaching a Distance Learning Timeline  for the remaining weeks of the school year.

This action was not taken lightly; the school closure is in the best interest of our students and our faculty/staff,  in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the greater Sacramento region. We will continue to keep you informed and update you on any additional information we receive from the Diocese. Our school website is the best source of information for ongoing updates and you can find that information by following this link.

Additionally, due to the COVID-19 quarantine, the College Board has made some changes to the AP testing window, as well as the scope of each exam. I am also providing you with an additional document (AP Exams Q & A) that outlines some common questions and answers regarding those changes instituted by the College Board. You can also find important updates for your daughters at the following link

I know this unprecedented health crisis has impacted all of us, socially and emotionally, but most importantly our seniors and their parents. We know you and your daughters are anxious about the plans for the important rites of passage that will be postponed due to this extended school closure. As Mrs. Rodgers and I indicated in a previous letter to our senior parents, we promise to create special, uniquely St. Francis memories, no matter when this pandemic ends. We will not let this milestone year for your daughters go uncelebrated.

Thank you for your love and support. Thank you for choosing St. Francis and trusting us to have your daughter’s best interest at the heart of everything we do. Thank you for your continued prayers for our students, our community and our school!

In the spirit of Pax et Bonum (peace and goodness),

Elias Mendoza
