Letter from the Principal

Email blast

Dear St. Francis Families,

I am writing to alert you to two protests planned outside of our campus this week.  The first protest is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 23 at 3:00 p.m. on Elvas Avenue.

Since we do not know who is organizing this protest and who may be participating, and to ensure the safety of our students, faculty and staff, campus will be closed tomorrow, all instruction will take place in Distance Learning, and no after school activities will take place.  Any pre-purchased meals ordered through Epicurean for today and tomorrow, will be reimbursed. Lastly, in order to protect the safety and well-being of all involved, law enforcement will likely be present.

Another protest is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24 at 10:30 a.m.  While Wednesday is not an instructional day, we will maintain our midweek flex day and scheduled teacher office hours. The planned Senior Picnic event will be postponed to a later date.  Once again, to ensure the safety of our students, faculty and staff, law enforcement will likely be present.

Given these two events may bring a large number of people together, as well as intermingle students from different cohorts, it may cause us to remain in full Distance Learning for the rest of the week until both Red and Gold Cohorts can be COVID screened again.

I will continue to update you should we learn of any additional activities or changes to campus operations. Please direct any questions or concerns to the administrative team who are handling this situation.  Please pray for our Lord’s healing and mercy in all of this.

St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us!
St. Clare of Assisi, pray for us!

In the spirit of Pax et Bonum (peace and goodness),

Elias Mendoza
Principal
