Message from the Dean of Students 8/13/18

Good Afternoon Parents,

Thank you for your patience during drop-off and pick-up today. We know the first week of traffic is a challenge.  It may be even more so over the next few days with the addition of more drivers.  We promise it will not stay this way.  It takes a few days for the flow to improve as people learn the system, and follow the rules. The traffic patterns have been set in cooperation with the City of Sacramento and the Sacramento Police Traffic Office.

Plan on having your student on campus at least 10 minutes prior to the start of school (pretend school starts at 7:50 a.m.).

The longest traffic delays are 7:45 to 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 to 3:15 p.m.  If you come after 3:20 p.m.,  you will breeze through.

Students should have all items with them, and be ready to exit/enter the vehicle. They should always check that it is safe to exit/enter the vehicle.

The drop off/pick up lanes in front of the school are the only authorized areas for parent traffic.

During the school year, student drop off/pick up is by the gym doors only.

When using the cell phone lot, please park in the designated spaces, and only get into line after your daughter has called you.  The biggest delays are caused by people stacking up in line in the armory/cell phone lot which causes a backup to those behind them.  Parking in the cell phone lot for student pick up is not open until 2:40 p.m. for security and safety reasons.   Additionally:

  • NO drop off or pick up from the visitor parking spaces is allowed (unless your student is on crutches or in a wheel chair).
  • NO crossing over from one lane to the other, as this has the potential to create further congestions and accidents.
  • NO drop off or pick up on M Street or in the surrounding neighborhoods (students in violation will face Saturday school).
  • NO drop off or pick up inside the student parking lot (PARENTS MAY NOT DRIVE IN THE STUDENT LOTS).

Thank you for all of your assistance and cooperation as we work together to inspire and support our Troubies.

Many blessings,

Mrs. Cost
