Principal’s Newsletter 10/26/18
Dear St. Francis Families,
We have two major events taking place in the upcoming week. There is a palpable energy surrounding Homecoming Week, and our students are visibly excited in anticipation of the week’s celebration.
Additionally, Halloween will once again fall on a school day this year, and some early celebrations may be taking place this weekend and will inevitably spill-over into school during the coming week. Please encourage your daughter(s) to be safe and to remain vigilant of their surroundings wherever they may be celebrating this popular day. I ask that you discuss with your daughter(s) the dangers of vaping, drugs, and alcohol. Most parents are surprisingly unaware of the choices their children are making regarding these substances.
I know some of you may have heard this message before, but please talk to your daughter(s) about saying “no”, and don’t be afraid to ask the questions that will keep them safe: Who are you hanging out with? What are your friends’ phone numbers? Who are their parents? Will there be adults supervising? Where do they live? Sometimes as parents, we have to be the “bad guys” and do things that aren’t considered “cool,” but we do those things out of love, and for the well-being of our children.
Let us pray that all of our children will be safe this upcoming weekend (and always).
St. Francis of Assisi pray for us!
Pax et Bonum (peace and goodness),
