Email blast

Dear St. Francis Families,

I hope you’re all doing well and preparing for a different 4th of July holiday weekend.

Last week, I shared St. Francis’ Safe Return to School Plan. I know that several of you have reviewed it already, as I have received some questions about the Synchronous Hybrid Learning Model.

Just to clarify, each student group or cohort, will meet on campus for two consecutive school days, followed by two Distance Learning days.  When the Red Group is on campus, the Gold Group will be accessing class via our distance learning platform, and vice versa.  As the schedule rotates throughout the semester, each student cohort will be on campus the same number of days.  The hybrid learning model maximizes the student instructional minutes and student-teacher contact points, while maintaining the health and safety of our school community.  The benefit of this hybrid learning model is that teachers will be able to see all of their students in class two to three times per week, in order to get to know them, and develop a rapport that is not easily developed remotely.

This being said, some parents have requested that special consideration be given for carpooling families, seniors, and friend groups. Unfortunately, at this time, this is not something that I can guarantee, but please know that we are looking at several options to ensure we divide the student body in a fair and equitable manner. Click HERE for a parent survey that will help us make our decisions as we finalize our Red/Gold schedules for our expected return to campus this fall.

Thank you for your input and continued support, as we continue to navigate the implications created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

I pray that you have a safe and healthy holiday weekend surrounded by those you love.
