Jen Yang ‘10
General Manager, Republic Services
At St. Francis, Jen was involved with student council as her class VP and later SBO VP and a part of the tennis and track teams. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from UC Berkeley with a degree in Political Economy, and studied abroad for a semester in Berlin, Germany. After college, Jen pursued a career at Altria Group having various leadership roles in sales, project management, management, and client services/data analytics for six years living in San Francisco, Portland, and Dallas. Realizing that she wanted to continue making a positive impact in the world through business, she pursued her MBA and graduated as a Fuqua Scholar from the Duke University’s The Fuqua School of Business. Since graduating with a business degree, she has transitioned her career into a General Manager role at Republic Services supporting the collection and disposal of waste materials in Massachusetts. She is responsible for servicing the customers, growing the business, and supporting her people. The General Manager oversees the entire business’ operations, sales, finance, HR, fleet maintenance, and post collections facilities and departments, which encompass around a $80M P&L. During Jen’s free time, she enjoys living a healthy and active lifestyle with yoga practice and running. She makes a concerted effort to stay connected with loved ones and friends from all over the country, ski/snowboard about 25 days per year, and travel internationally three trips per year (she has visited about 40 countries thus far). She is very thankful for the St. Francis community.
