Kiera (Mickiewicz) Anderson (SFHS Class of 1999) is an actor, choreographer, director, teaching artist and arts education advocate. Kiera graduated from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts in 2002 with a BFA in Theatre, returning to NYU to teach yoga for actors in 2007 (ERYT-500, Yoga Therapy RX certificate from Loyola Marymount University). After 10 years as a professional actor, working off-Broadway, in New York, and regional theatres across the country (member, Actors Equity Association), Kiera moved to Los Angeles to be with her husband, actor Bradford Anderson. Kiera has always been passionate about access to arts education and has taught workshops and classes for young people since 2002. As assistant to the President/CEO of the DEA Educational Foundation, Kiera is honored to help thousands of students receive access to dance education through the DEAEF Youth Dance Program. She initiated and directed the drama club at Cristo Rey High School for three seasons, serves as choreographer of the Broadway Sacramento Youth Ensemble and Broadway Sacramento summer workshops, and works with many youth theatre groups across the Sacramento area. Kiera holds an M.Ed. Drama in Education degree through the University of Dublin, Trinity College. She has served on numerous boards of performing arts organizations across the country, including The Wildwood Performing Arts Foundation, Sing For Your Seniors, and New Helvetia Theatre.
