Help Celebrate Black History!

This Friday and next Friday during the month of February, the Black Parents Group (BPG) and the Black Student Union (BSU) are hosting special events to help us all better understand and celebrate Black History.

All Black and African-American students are invited to join us tonight for our movie night event (February 19th) at 4:00 p.m., where attendees will watch the movie “Between the World and Me” based on the book by Ta-Nehisi Coates. Professor Alexandria White with the Sacramento City College English Department will moderate the discussion on the 19th.

You are invited to join THIS ZOOM on February 26th from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. for an afternoon of inspiration as our Guest Speaker, Belicia Smith, shares her educational and career journey as a Sacramento native who got her undergraduate degree form Sacramento State and went on to earn her graduate degree form Harvard. She is currently working at Harvard graduate school of education as a learning designer. The Black Parents Group (BPG) is hosting this Speaker Series, where guests share their professional experiences working in fields underrepresented by people of color. Please RSVP HERE.

All month long, the SFHS community is invited to purchase  SFHS  Black History Month limited edition apparel on Amazon.
