Memorial Notice for Sandra Geary Cook ‘ 54

Sandra & John Cook receiving the Pax et Bonum Award from President Marion Bishop in 2009.Sandra Geary Cook '54

It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of St. Francis High School Alumna Sandra Geary Cook ’54 who passed away January 30, 2014 after a long battle with cancer.  Sandra, and her loving husband John, have contributed to the community at St. Francis in ways that go far beyond the generosity of their gifts.  John and Sandra were recipients of the President’s Pax et Bonum Award in 2009 for their contributions to the mission of St. Francis and modeling the characteristics of Peace and Goodness – the motto of the school and our Patron, St. Francis of Assisi.  Sandra’s footprints on the campus will forever be a reminder of the humble but generous spirit that surrounded everything she did.  We will miss her humor, elegance, wisdom, and positive influence on our community.  In addition to her husband John, she is survived by her daughters Cathy ‘79, Laurie ‘81, son John, seven grandchildren, and her sisters Sally Enos ‘57, Kathy O’Connor ‘60, Patty Crowle ‘63, and Mary Ellingson ’67, and brothers Bill Geary and Mike Geary.

Eternal rest, grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace. Amen.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Folsom (307 Montrose Avenue, Folsom, CA 95630).  A reception will follow.
