Troubie Latin Camp

This is a co-ed week-long camp for students interested in Latin and classical culture. Led by Dr. Briggs and students in the St. Francis Latin program, participants will have fun learning basic Latin phrases, the foundations of Latin grammar, Roman history, mythology, and interesting ways in which Latin continues to affect our modern world. We will learn about how Latin has given us many of the words in English and in the romance languages, such as Spanish. We will also use games and hands on activities. When we learn about food, students will taste some of the foods of ancient Rome. When we learn about the Roman military, students will be able to test catapults. This camp is open to rising 6th -8th graders. No prior Latin experience is required, just an eagerness to learn and an interest in the ancient world.
