SFHS French Students Awards in National French Contest

Every year in March, French students at SFHS take the French National Contest organized by the AATF (the American Association of Teachers of French). This exam has been in existence for 80 years, and this year over 90,000 students took the exam nationwide. The French department is very proud to announce that 23 students became “Laureats Nationaux” or National Winners.

Felicitations a tous les Laureats! Congratulations to all these wonderful students!

7 of our students received Gold Medals for placing in the 95th percentile for the nation including: Tammy Lee ‘18- French 2, Sylvanna Nilsen ‘18- French 2, Carmen Ocazionez ‘18 -French 2, Olivia Fu ‘18- Honors French 3, Solene Sinclair ‘18- Honors French 3, Sophie Zepf ‘15- AP French and Benite Rutaganira ‘15- AP French. 6 of our students received a silver medal for placing between the 85th and the 90th percentile for the nation including: Larissa Linden ‘18- French 1, Cassandra Peralta ‘18- French 1, Sarah Ajize ‘17-French 2, Stephanie Fong ‘18- French 2, Ann Carriere ‘16- Honors French 3, Lauren Gresens ‘16- Honors French 3.
