2017 Tennis Highlights

News
  • St. Francis went 19-1 overall on the season and 12-0 in the Delta League to win the league title, capturing the title for the 28th time in school history and third consecutive.
  • The St. Francis tennis team lost 5-2 in the semifinals of the CIF/USTA Northern California Regional Championships Friday to eventual champion Los Gatos. It was the second consecutive CIF NorCal appearance for the program.’
  • The Troubadours equaled the best finish in school history with their fourth NorCal semifinal appearance. St. Francis had also advanced to the semifinals in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
  • The team won the Sac-Joaquin Section title over Del Oro (5-4) and had a playoff run that included wins over McClatchy (8-1) and Davis (7-2). It was the first section title since 2011 and 10th overall in school history.
  • Coach Kristi Spector has been named the Delta League Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.
  • Seniors Kiya and Kyla Jackson defeated the team of Ali Isaac and Emma Dobson of Del Oro to win the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I Doubles title at Johnson Ranch Racquet Club.
  • Six St. Francis players were named to the All-Delta League tennis team based on play at the Delta League Singles and Doubles Championships. The six honorees include junior Myra Anwar and Adithi Benush in singles and the doubles teams of seniors Kiya and Kyla Jackson and senior Cameron Parra and Izzy Asker.
  •  Anwar and Benush advanced to the third-place consolation match with Benush winning to advance to the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs. The Jackson sisters won the league doubles title for the third consecutive season, while Asker and Parra played in the third-place match.
  •  Kiya and Kyla Jackson won the USTA Junior Team Tennis national championships in the 18U Intermediate division with their team based at Laguna Creek Racquet Club. The three-day tournament was contested at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
  • Fat was named to the Wendy’s High School Heisman school winner.
  • The varsity team posted a 3.602 cumulative GPA.
