Cross Country Competes at Woodbridge, Nike Invitationals
NORCO, Calif. – The St. Francis cross country team ran in five races across the state on Saturday, representing at the Woodbridge Cross Country Invitational in Norco and DLS/CHS Nike Invitational in Concord.
The Varsity team finished 13th with 288 points in the Bob Day Sweepstakes race at the Woodbridge Invitational Saturday night. Senior Sydney Vandegrift was the top finisher in 26th overall in 16:54. Junior Sophie DeBenedetti placed 49th, while freshman Hanna Hekkanen was the third Troubie across the line in 80th. Sophomore Haley Silva crossed 86th in 18:02 and senior Alana Reyna was the fifth finisher in 126th.
The Frosh/Soph team finished fourth in the Gold race behind three runners in the Top 25. Sophomore Nicole McBride was 15th in 19:49 over three miles with teammate Grace Harrison (17th, 19:51) and Audrey Reyes (21st, 19:55) leading the pack.
At the Nike Invitational, senior Erica Cradeur was the top finisher in 20:38 for 70th-place over the 3 mile course at Newhall Park in Concord, while junior Cassidy Lourim was 95th overall. The Frosh/Soph entry in the unlimited race was 11th overall and were led by Giovanna Rudis in 14:58 over two miles. The Frosh/Soph race sophomore Megan Seifert was 38th overall in 15:02, while freshman Molly Chambers was 50th in 15:17.
St. Francis runs again next Saturday at the Pacific Invitational in Stockton.
