Tennis Remains Undefeated; Wins at Davis

DAVIS, Calif. – The St. Francis tennis team remained undefeated after an 8-1 victory on the road at Davis Thursday afternoon. The Troubadours won five of six singles matches and swept the doubles to clinch the win.

St. Francis (10-0) won in straight sets in each match. Sophomore Adithi Benush was a 6-4, 7-6 winner at No. 2 singles over Lyna Jiang, while freshman Alisha Anwar pulled away 7-6, 6-1 after a first-set tiebreaker. Senior Kyla Jackson also won the opening set in a tiebreak before blanking Danielle Bollinger 6-0 in the second set. Senior Marisa Fat posted a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 5 over Ellie Baker, while classmate Kiya Jackson was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Maggie Warren at No. 6.

Izzy Asker and Cameron Parra paired at No. 1 doubles for a 6-1, 6-4 win over Julia Pan and Reyna Shauman. Alex Evans and Peyton Spellacy posted a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles, while Bianca Ariza and Sam Sonntag with 6-4, 6-2 winners at No. 3.

Davis scored their lone point at No. 1 singles where Lillian Okamonto was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Myra Anwar.

The win completed the season sweep over the Blue Devils, improving the Troubies to 8-0 in the Delta League with three league matches left on the schedule. SF hosts Elk Grove on Oct. 10 at 3:45 p.m. at Rio del Oro before traveling to Franklin on Oct. 17 and hosting Monterey Trail on Senior Day on Oct. 19.
