HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Juniors Reagan Garcia (Carmichael), Abbey Berg (Sacramento) and Emalee Lavezzo (Sacramento) were named to the USA Water Polo Academic All-America team announced this month. All three represent American River Water Polo Club.

“It is a testament to them as an overall student-athlete,” said Head Coach Heather Moody. “It shows they take care of then the responsibility in the classroom in addition to the time they spend on the sport that they love.”

A USA Water Polo Academic All-American is a student-athlete who has earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.60 or higher for the 2016-2017 academic school year; completed the 10th, 11th or 12th grade in the spring of 2017; is a current USA Water Polo gold athlete member; and has competed in a USA Water Polo National Event during the 2016-2017 academic school year.

Garcia received Outstanding Academic All-American status for her 4.33 GPA, while Lavezzo tallied a 4.00. Overall, 12 Troubadours have earned Academic All-America status 20 times under Moody since her arrival.
