Twenty-One Troubadours Earn River Cats All-City Sponsored by SportsStars

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis had 21 selections to the River Cats All-City teams sponsored by SportsStars presented prior to the game Sunday at Raley Field. The Troubadours had student-athletes selected to each team led by four from the Sac-Joaquin Section winning water polo team.

Water Polo’s Maggie Oys, Elle Minor, Ally Tambornini and Jennalyn Barthels were all chosen to the girls water polo team. Barthels, who signed with Cal-State Northridge, had a team-best 47 goals and 70 points. She ranks third on the team with 23 assists. She was a Sac-Joaquin Section first-team selection and All-Delta League first team member. She helped the team to the Section title for the first time since 2008. Oys, who signed with Santa Clara, was second on the team in goals (36) and third in points (50). She was a Sac-Joaquin Section first-team selection and All-Delta League first team member. She was one of the captains on the Section Championship team. Tambornini scored 32 goals and recorded 53 points (second-best on the team) with a team-best 71 steals. She was a Sac-Joaquin Section first-team selection and member of the Delta League second team. Minor starred in the goal for the Troubies.

The NorCal Champion basketball team was represented with three players. Craig was named the Delta League Player of the Year and led the Troubadours to the CIF Division I State Championship Game. Huffman averaged a career-high 12.8 points per game this season, scoring in double figures in 29 games, including 22 straight at one point. She was an All-Delta League first-team selection. Tia Hay was also selected after scoring 16.2 points and dishing 6.8 assists.

Ashley Newland and Hailey Barrett were chosen from the soccer team, while Mel Baccay and Shelby Tevis were on the softball team. The Cross country and track and field programs had Ariane Arndt, Lilly Enes, Sydney Vandegrift and Chase Worthen recognized. The swimming team was honored with Emily Peters, Katie McIntee and Chloe Mitchell.

Avery Spector, the Delta League Player of the Year in tennis, was named to the tennis team. She finished the season with a 13-4 dual match record and 17-5 overall mark. She advanced to the Delta League singles championship for the third consecutive season and was a quarterfinalist in the Sac-Joaquin Section Singles draw.

Senior Ashlynn Fresques was selected to the volleyball team and senior Kristi Lee was named to the golf team.
