CARMICHAEL, Calif. – Seniors Aubree Barr, Sally Ferguson and Frances Barbour each scored four times and senior goalie Maddy Vine recorded a scoreless first half in the cage as St. Francis posted a 21-1 victory over El Camino Friday night.

Barbour scored three times in the first quarter as the Troubadours built a 10-0 lead. St. Francis (9-9) would extend the lead to 14-0 at the break with four more goals in the second quarter.

“It was really good to start off strong,” said Barbour in her postgame interview on TroubieTV. “Because it was senior night we tried to really emphasize playing as a team. It was cool to get those first goals off the bat.”

Overall, nine players scored in the contest. Freshman Kendall Houck scored three times and senior Rocky Mudd added two goals in the win. The Troubadours got single goals from Malia Arnott, Chloe King, Emalee Lavezzo and Caroline Wilkins.

“Today was a big process for our team,” said Muff after the game. “We fought well together, held our composure and understood each person’s part in the game. We executed our plays really well and that all fed into our shots.”

St. Francis scored four more times in the third quarter and three in the fourth to seal the victory.

The team celebrated their six seniors in a pre-game ceremony. Barr, Barbour, Ferguson, Vine, Mudd and Kayla Wehner participated with their families and teammates.

“I remember the seniors last year so it was a really big thing for me,” said Mudd of the senior recognition. “Today was the game I have looked forward to all season and working towards it. It has been great.”

The JV team posted a 15-8 win over in the opener Friday night.

St. Francis travels to play Woodcreek on Thursday night with JV and Varsity games in Roseville.
