Summer 2023 Italy Trip Informational Meeting
Informational meeting in Room 304
You are invited to attend an informational meeting on September 28th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Room 304 about the Modern and Classical Language Department sponsored Summer Trip to Rome and Sicily in June of 2023.
This educational trip will provide travelers with a cultural, artistic and linguistic immersion when visiting the city of Rome and the region of Sicily. Highlights of the Roman portion include visits to the Colosseum. the Forum, San Clemente, Vatican City, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Vatican Museums. In Sicily, we will spend time at the Greek Amphitheater of Taormina and enjoy an afternoon at one of the area’s beautiful beaches. While on the eastern portion of the island we will enjoy a gastronomic adventure as we take a trip to a local market and prepare a characteristic Sicilian lunch which we will share together. Other highlights of this trip include visits to the cathedral of Syracuse, the Valley of the Temples, the Palatine Chapel at the Norman Palace in Palermo, and exploration of monuments and sites in Selinunte, Monreale, Cefalu, Segesta, Erice and more.
