Uniform Policy Changes and Reminders

These are basic reminders. Please read the full uniform policy carefully in the Student Parent Handbook

  • Matching socks that keep in the spirit of the uniform. Tights or leggings will be only black with no patterns or designs.  If a student is wearing leggings she must also wear socks that will overlap with the leggings.
  • The length of the skirt may be no shorter than three inches above the middle of the knee. Be sure skirt is in good condition. The button and zipper should be in working order so that it can be fastened at the waist.
  • Students may only wear white short sleeve t-shirts under their uniform polo.
  • Layering of St. Francis uniform items is permitted. Students may not layer with any non-uniform item. Students may only layer under the following:
    • The uniform sweatshirt
    • The long sleeved uniform sweater or cardigan
    • The long sleeved fleece or uniform jacket.
  • Backless shoes are out of uniform. This includes the clog style shoe with a thin lip at the heel.
  • Only Khaki (not corduroy or denim) material is acceptable for pants. Beige is the only acceptable color.
  • A formal uniform is required for assemblies, class meetings, liturgies, prayer services and special events

New formal uniform requirements

Formal Uniform: Checkered box pleat skirt; SF white uniform polo(must not hang below the sweater); SF red sweater, cardigan or vest. Solid black tights or leggings may be worn. Socks must be solid white. No layering with non-formal uniform items during gatherings on formal uniform days.

  • Uniform Enforcement: If a student is not in proper uniform, she will be assigned detention. Student will be sent to the front office until she has obtained a proper uniform. Non uniform items will be confiscated and donated to charity or may be picked up by a parent or guardian.
