  Dr. Kathrin Troppmann is Professor Emerita of Surgery at the
  University of California, Davis, School of Medicine.  Her
  surgical areas of focus include Minimally Invasive (Laparoscopic)
  Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery, and Acute Care Surgery.
  She received her Bachelor of Science from UCLA in 1988 and her
  medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in 1992.  She
  moved to Sacramento to complete her General Surgery Residency
  Training at the University of California, Davis, Health System
  from 1992-1998 and stayed on as Faculty for over 20 years.
  Dr. Troppmann has been actively involved in all aspects of
  Academic Surgery including education of medical students and
  surgical residents, patient care in the clinic and hospital ward,
  surgical intervention in the operating room, and medical
  research.  She was the Surgical Clerkship Director for all
  100 medical students during their 3rd year of medical school as
  they rotated through Surgery. She was also involved in multiple
  national, surgical societies where she served on Executive
  Committees and in other roles.  She has published and
  presented in diverse clinical disciplines including minimally
  invasive surgery, ileostomies, pancreatitis, diverticulitis and
  transplant surgery, as well as in other areas such as lifestyle
  and career satisfaction among surgeons, work-life balance in
  surgery, women surgeons, surgical resident education, and quality
  of patient care.
