A Sacramento high school robotics team is gearing up for the world championships

The award-winning team from St. Francis Catholic High School held their last practice at the Jesuit pool.

The 15 teammates engineered their underwater robot from the ground up, mastering electrical systems, coding, mechanics, and teamwork to earn first place at the Monterey Bay regional competition this past April.

The world championships are in Alpena, Michigan. This marks the fifth consecutive year they’ve qualified. They won the title in 2023 as the first all-female team in the world.
