A Message from Principal Theresa Rodgers
Dear Families,
It is with great joy that I welcome you to the 2015-16 school year! I especially welcome our new freshmen, the Class of 2019, and our great number of transfer students. We are so blessed that you have chosen to be part of our Troubie family.
This year is our Diamond Jubilee year in which we celebrate 75 years of educating young women in the Sacramento area. We have many exciting activities planned this year to celebrate this milestone, and we hope you will join us as we honor our past and look to the future of graduating young women who change the world.
This year is my 23rd year in education and my third year at St. Francis. I can’t think of a more beautiful place to work. St. Francis Catholic High School is a community which celebrates each student’s God-given gifts and talents. We provide a rigorous academic experience, a quality extra-curricular program in athletics, the arts, and technology, and most importantly, a school experience founded in our Catholic faith and tradition. St. Francis Catholic High School embodies all of these qualities, and I am honored to serve here.
It is my firm belief that parents are the primary educators of their children. We at St. Francis are collaborators with you in this endeavor. We will do everything in our power, and with the help of our Lord, to help them become the women God is calling them to be. Thank you for sending us your children and trusting us with your most precious gift, your daughters. Thank you for allowing your daughters to share in the St. Francis experience.
This year’s school theme is taken from the words of our Holy
Father, Pope Francis: “The world tells us to seek success, power
and money; God tells us to seek humility, service and love.”
My prayer is that we all put this into practice this year
and be models of holiness in our world. As we begin the new year
school year, I ask that you keep our community in your prayers as
you are in mine.
I look forward to seeing you on campus in the days and months
ahead.
In the Spirit of Pax et Bonum,
Theresa Rodgers
