ELK GROVE, Calif. – Sophomore Clare Brennan and freshman Logan Kelly each scored 16 points as the St. Francis JV team rallied for a 52-47 victory over Franklin Tuesday night.

Brennan missed the first eight games due to injury and has been playing her best basketball lately, scoring 41 points over the last three games after scoring 40 in her first 12 games of the season.

“It is nice to be back and playing,” said Brennan, who has scored in double figures in three straight games. “It was terrible coming back after a month.”

The Troubadours (16-7) overcame 34 points from Franklin’s top player to win their third straight game.

St. Francis led 19-11 after the first period but fell behind by as many as eight points in the third quarter. Then the Troubies went on a run by Kelly in the third and Brennan in the fourth. Kelly scored two baskets and made six of eight free throws, while Brennan connected for three hoops in the final period.

“We share the ball and do really well together,” said Brennan of Kelly. “We know where each other are going to be and we can box out really well.”

Amara Allen added seven points, while Skyler Maccoun and Reina Deol each scored four points in the contest.

“Everyone was getting out and sharing the ball with each other,” said Brennan. “We really supported each other and we do better together.”

St. Francis plays its final home game on Friday against Monterey Trail. The game will be shown online on TroubieTV. The team concludes its season on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Grant.
