Cross Country Advances to Section Meet

ANGELS CAMP, Calif. – The St. Francis cross country team advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section meet easily with a fourth-place finish at the Sub-Sections Saturday.

Senior Peyton Bilo was the top finisher for the team in 20:28 to cross 18th, while classmate Miranda Myers was 28th in 20:40. Freshmen Sydney Vandegrift and Ava Nkadi crossed the line simultaneously to place 32nd. Junior Ariane Arndt was four seconds back.

The top 10 teams advance to next week’s section meet. Bella Vista was first with 98 points, followed by Woodcreek (121), Folsom (139) and St. Francis (141).

Junior Chase Worthen was the sixth finisher for the team in 21:33.

The Troubadour Frosh-Soph team won their race with 56 points led by second-place finisher Savannah McGrew and fourth-place finisher Ashley Reid. The JV team finished second in their race.

The section meet will be held at Willow Hills Reservoir next Saturday.
