Cross Country Finishes Second at Nike Invitational

CONCORD, Calif. – The St. Francis cross country team finished second at the Carondelet Nike Invitational Saturday morning at Newhall Park.

Senior Miranda Myers led the team for the third straight meet, finishing sixth overall in 18:25 over the three-mile course. Classmate Peyton Bilo was 10th, finishing in the Top 10 for the third time this year with a time of 18:43. Freshman Ava Nkadi was the third Troubadour across in the line in 20th overall (19:31) in her varsity debut.

St. Francis finished second team behind champion Davis with 102 points. Davis won the meet with 67 points. Archbishop Mitty (130), Monte Vista (137) and Amador Valley (147) rounded out the top five teams.

Junior Ariane Arndt was 24th overall in 19:37 and junior Chase Worthen finished 42nd in 20:10.

Gabrielle Dyer was the top finisher in the JV race, crossing the line fifth overall in 13:39 as the team finished third overall. Freshmen Sydney Vandegrift won the Frosh/Soph race covering the two-mile course in 13:16 as the team finished second overall.

St. Francis travels to Chicago next weekend for the Palatine Invitational.
