Cross Country Led by Myers and Bilo at Ed Sias Invite

MARTINEZ, Calif.  – Seniors Miranda Myers and Peyton Bilo each posted top-five finishes to help St. Francis to a fourth-place finish at the Ed Sias Invitational Saturday.

Myers was the top Troubadour finisher in 12:17 over the two-mile course. She finished behind only Megan McCandless of Granda (11:37) and Brooke Starn of Monte Vista (12:04). Bilo was five seconds behind Myers in fifth overall (12:22).

Junior Ariane Arndt was 20th in 13:21, while junior Chase Worthen crossed 26th in 13:34. Senior Amanda Larivee was the fifth finisher for the team in 14:12. Junior Juliet Batturaro posted a time of 14:24, while Gabrielle Dyer was 64th in 14:30.

St. Francis was fourth overall with 107 points behind team winner Monte Vista (68), Amador Valley (86) and Homestead (91).

Freshmen Ava Nkadi won the Frosh/Soph race in 12:57 as the team took the team title. Freshmen Sydney Vandegrift was fourth overall (13:32). In the JV race, senior Aeriel Medina was fourth overall (14:07) and junior Samantha Galla crossed the line ninth (14:56) as the team was third overall.
