Junior Anna Gregg Records Goal and Two Assists in Win

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior Anna Gregg had a goal and two assists to lead St. Francis to a 3-1 victory over El Camino Tuesday afternoon.

“The first half was a little rough and a slow start,” said Gregg. “We picked it up in the second half and pulled out the victory.”

St. Francis improved to 5-0-1 on the season.

Senior Terra Carden scored for the second consecutive game on an assist from Gregg to open the scoring 10 minutes into the game. El Camino answered three minutes later on a goal by Jaqui Ortega to tie the game at 1.

The score remained tied until the second half. Gregg was the recipient of an assist by Carden to score the go ahead goal. Layne Price scored the third goal on an assist from Gregg.

“Terra and I have played together for two seasons on varsity,” said Gregg. “We have a good history together and look for each other. We connect really well.”

Gregg has scored in five of the six games on the season and has six goals and three assists.

“We are looking good and playing strong,” said Gregg. “Hopefully we can pull out as many victories as we can.”

The Troubadours host Christian Brothers on Tuesday at St. Francis at 3:30 p.m. followed by the JV game at 5 p.m.

The JV team defeated El Camino 1-0 Tuesday, posting their second consecutive win. Sophomore Noor Masarweh scored on an assist by Bridget Foy and Annalise Huckaby.
