JV Volleyball Wins Chris Craft Tournament , Freshmen Lose in CIVT Finals

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis JV volleyball team won the Chris Craft Tournament with a straight set win over Oak Ridge 25-23, 25-22 that completed a perfect day for the Troubadours.

Head Coach Taryn Wright’s team won six matches on the day. They opened with a win over Vista del Lago (23-25, 25-16, 15-7) before wins over the Ponderosa freshman team, Del Oro, Vacaville, Granite Bay and Oak Ridge.

The freshmen team was strong all day en route to reaching the finals of the CIVT Tournament. The Troubadours won six straight games in straight sets before losing to St. Mary’s in the finals. Head Coach Lawrence Wang’s team beat Lodi, Casa Roble, San Marin, Galt, Bret Harte and Del Rio.

The St. Francis programs return to the court on Thursday.
