SFHS Senior Nicole Young was awarded a first place scholarship (age 17-19) in the Asya Pleskach Scholarship for Young Choral Singers, sponsored by the Sacramento Master Singers. Nicole competed against 12 other area high school singers. She performed a classical Italian art song for adjudicators and completed an interview regarding her leadership skills and commitment to choral music. Nicole will be performing her solo in the Sacramento Master Singers upcoming concert, ‘Listen to the Heart’. Nicole will also be a Voice Major at CSU Sacramento in the fall. Congratulations Nicole!!
