SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis recorded 14 hits in posting a 15-1 victory over Folsom Tuesday afternoon at Schuster Field. Four players recorded two or more hits in the game, including a pair of three-hit games by Rhyann O’Mara and Amy Marks.

“We kept the momentum going today after a tough game yesterday,” said senior Alejandra Garcia. “Every girl contributed today and we felt good.”

Marks got the win by allowing just one run over three innings. Emily Ainsley pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

“The girls came out and did not take the team lightly and pounded the ball,” said Co-Head Coach Al Logiudice. “We made some really good defensive plays as well.”

The Troubadours (10-9) scored three runs in the first inning and broke open the game in the second with eight runs in the inning.

O’Mara plated two runs with a double and scored on a single by Marks. Alexis Viramontes knocked in Marks with a single and scored in a single by Bailey Boone.

St. Francis honored LoGiudice before the game and the program celebrated after the game with a BBQ hosted by St. Francis Athletics.

“It means a lot,” said LoGiudice after the game. “It is really starting to sink in because everyone is coming up and talking about 25 years. It is a long time and I am so happy to have been able to spend 25 years at a place like St. Francis. I have met so many wonderful people. (Co-head Coach) Kevin Warren and I are like brothers. We have been coaching together for over 30 years. Not only do you see the girls come and go but you build friendships with your coaching staff.”

LoGiuduce is coaching his 25th season with the Troubadours this season.

“He has done so much for me,” said Garcia of LoGiudiuce. “I have known him since the fourth grade. I have grown up knowing him and he is always looking out for his players. I could not ask for a better coach. He has every girl’s best interest at heart.”

St. Francis plays in a two-day tournament starting Friday in Tracy. The Troubadours continue Delta River League action next week with home games against Pleasant Grove on Tuesday and Sheldon on Thursday. The JC team will play at Pleasant Grove on Tuesday and at home against Sheldon.
