Sophomore Golfer Sweeney to Attend IJGA

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Rising sophomore Patricia Sweeney will attend a week-long training at the International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) in Hilton Head, S.C., June 12-18.

Sweeney is one of 49 teens selected from a pool of national candidates from chapters of The First Tee. Participants receive instruction on all aspects of the golf game from IJGA instructors, as well as mental training, fitness training, college placement sessions and components from The First Tee Life Skills curriculum. Evenings include fun activities such as trips to the beach, laser tag, movies, kayaking and a dolphin cruise.

Sweeney ranked second on the team in scoring over nine holes with a 41.2 average and earned All-Delta League honors in her first season.

She is representing the The First Tee of Greater Sacramento.
