CARMICHAEL, Calif. – St. Francis water polo advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section semifinals with a 21-3 win over Enochs Thursday night at Jesuit High School.

St. Francis, the No. 2 seed, out-scored the Eagles 8-0 in the first quarter and 14-1 over the first half to easily cruise to the win. The Troubadours will face Lodi, an 8-7 winner over Woodcreek in one semifinal on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in Modesto.

Jenna Barthels scored a game-high five goals for the Troubadours.

“It feels great to get the win,” said Barthels. “I am so excited to be with this team and advancing forward. It was a good jumping off point and it is going to lead to some great stuff.”

St. Francis hosted the quarterfinal game after receiving a bye in the first round.

“I love leaving this pool on a win,” said Barthels. “It is probably the last time I am going to play here which makes me a little sad. “To end with this team our coaches with a win, I would not want it any other way.”

Ally Tambornini and Maggie Oys each added three goals for St. Francis, while Sam Reinl and Emalee Lavezzo scored two goals each. The Troubies also got goals from Kira Chavez, Caroline Urkov, Kobe Carpenter, Julie Zanobini and Madalyn Lavezzo.
