SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Sally Ferguson had a goal and a team-best five assists to lead St. Francis to a 19-0 win over Franklin Tuesday afternoon at the Jesuit pool.

“We wanted to start off playing our style of water polo and we got the win,” said Ferguson. “We wanted to keep up the intensity and work on executing what we have been working on in practice.”

St. Francis (3-4) scored 11 times in the opening quarter with freshman Kendall Houck and seniors Aubree Barr, Kayla Wehner (pictured) and Frances Barbour each scoring twice. Ferguson, junior Natalie Imboden and Malia Arnott added goals in the quarter.

Barr and Arnott each finished with four goals to lead the team as nine different players scored in the contest.

“It is very fun to see every get to play because they all work very hard in practice,” said Ferguson. “Playing time is a nice reward for the hard work.”

The Troubies added two goals in the second to push the lead to 13 at the half, adding four in the third quarter and two in the fourth.

Senior Maddy Vine and sophomore Ari Miggins combined for the shutout for the Troubadours. Houck and junior Kobe Carpenter each had four steals and freshman Caroline Wilkins, Ferguson and Wehner added two swipes to help preserve the shutout.
