Faith & Service

Overview

Welcome to Campus Ministry!
A faith-based community that embraces everyone

Seeking Joy in Purpose and Community

The St. Francis experience is deeply rooted in the Catholic educational tradition and, as such, we welcome students of all religious backgrounds. Our faith and service programs give our young women the opportunity to build character, serve our community, and strengthen their commitment to social justice. Students and faculty work together taking leadership roles in facilitating retreats, planning liturgies and special celebrations, organizing justice awareness activities, and serving others in Sacramento and across the world.

The Campus Ministry department facilitates opportunities for our community to explore our Catholic faith, enhance our spirituality, and celebrate our community, including:

  • School-wide and classroom prayer

  • Student-coordinated liturgies

  • Student leadership roles in liturgy and retreat planning

  • Educational justice campaigns

  • Grade-level class retreats, including Kairos

  • Faculty and Staff Faith Formation meetings

  • Local service opportunities

  • Donation drives for local non-profit organizations

  • Big Sister program that facilitates the transition to high school for our incoming freshman “Little Sisters”

2024-2025 School Year Prayer

God of Hope,
You created our common home
where we get glimpses of hope
with each new sunrise,
with each act of compassion,
and every new friendship.

Son of God,
Your life of prayer and action shows us
that even in the darkest of times,
God walks with us toward a new light.

Spirit of God,
You act in the simplicity of an open heart.
Enkindle in us now a willingness to
become beacons of hope in our world.
Amen.
